Probably not global warming. Moisture stress, fungus, nutrias and cypress canker are the more likely culprits. Cypress even die of old age, though they are extremely long lived!!!

Complete sections of the swamp are like that with nothing but dead cypress trees visible from the highway.

The water is so blue. The bare trees add a different look to the swamps. Crisp and clear image voted CFC#15

Lovely, serene view, Joseph! The birds in the trees add a lot to the image. Your reply explains the stand of barren trees - thank you. Voted!

Very nice shot. I love how the trees pop out with the blue sky behind it very well done.

Joseph, great photo with a lot of interesting detail to it. Nice barron trees in the middle but to the left full grown trees with colorful branches. Like the water surrounding the piece of land as if you cannot get off of it. Great background shot of the trees and a great sky, with the clouds just either floating in or leaving. Excellent photo, voted and FB promoted

Thank You! There's areas of thriving trees, and among them is areas of dead trees. A very beautiful place to be. Calm, quiet, & serene.
